Wireless Myths
The most widespread myth would be that wireless networks are not safe (both in terms of security and in terms of the uptime). A well-configured wireless network, taking into account some "best practices" should not have problems with the signal.
It is absolutely obvious that in a closed space a wireless network will cover a much smaller area because of the solid obstacles. In addition to walls we must take into account the fact that the frequency used by wireless networks 802.11b/g/n (2.45 Ghz) is also used by Bluetooth networks, microwave ovens and generally about any device that uses radio waves. The emiters power is also limited by some fairly strict regulations (which vary slightly from country to country).
The 2.45 Ghz frequancy is divided into 13 channels (like TV channels). Non-overlaping channels are considered 1, 6 and 11. Primary rule is not using in the same area 2 wireless devices to deliver on the same channel. It is therefore indicated a small scanning area before setting up wireless device to discover any existing wireless networks in the region.
Another myth is related to exposure to radiation wireless. There is a fear that if we stay near a wireless network we will have problems. The level of radiation emitted by wireless antena is extremely small.
